With increasing competition in all sectors of employment, graduating with an Honours degree is a distinct advantage. It is often considered by employers as an added skill and has been used by previous graduates to pursue higher positions and salaries. You can develop and carry out research on a topic of interest, potentially leading to further academic study such as a PhD.
The Bachelor of Biomedical Science (Honours) allows you to further develop skills in biomedical science by undertaking a specific research project under the supervision of our world-class research staff.
The Honours year is your opportunity to make creative use of the information you have acquired during your first three years of study. If you have imagination, drive and an aptitude for problem solving, Honours should be an exciting and fulfilling experience.
As part of your Honours project, you will help design a project, review relevant literature and conduct the experiments. You will communicate the rationale for doing the project, the results from the project, and their conclusions, in both written and oral forms.
Visit the School of Biomedical Sciences and Pharmacy site for an insight into the fascinating areas of research undertaken.
