Why study with us?

Mathematics and Science at the University of Newcastle

The combined degree program offered at the University of Newcastle allows you to study maths and science concurrently so that you graduate with two qualifications over only four years of full-time study.

You will study a range of core (compulsory) courses and have the opportunity to specialise through an extensive elective course offering. Offered through the Faculty of Science and Information Technology, the Bachelor of Mathematics/Bachelor of Science degree provides practical experience in problem solving, critical thinking, written and oral presentation and exposure to internationally recognised research groups.

These skills provide you with diverse career opportunities working in the public sector, private industry, non-government aid agencies or community organisations. You can work in fields related to technology management, production, the environment, minerals and resources and agriculture. Our students find this career scope highly appealing as it provides endless opportunities to integrate personal interests into working life.
