The Bachelor of Environmental Science and Management degree has been developed in response to employer demand and current developments in the real world.

Fieldwork is a strong focus of all our environmental science degree courses and is complemented by practical lab work. In the University lab you will be able to use professional equipment found in the workplace.

The University of Newcastle is situated close to mining areas, national parks, urban developments, major waterways, coastal zones and other key environmental spots. We take full advantage of our location and actively incorporate these interesting destinations into the degree coursework.

In the final year of your environmental science and management degree there is also the opportunity for work placement through an elective course. Our partnerships with external industries will give you the chance to take part in exciting work placements and research opportunities, providing you with a competitive advantage when entering the career market.

Additionally, Bachelor of Environmental Science and Management students are eligible to enrol in SCIT3600 which offers you the opportunity to undertake an international placement to expand the theoretical knowledge and skills developed in this program and apply knowledge and skills in an external and international context.
