Requirements and Structure Back to top

The Bachelor of Education (Early Childhood) program consists of 320 units of study. Full-time students will undertake a total of 80 units of study in each year of the program, with their final semester including a ten week professional experience Internship in an early childhood (birth to five years) or school (Kindergarten to Year 2) setting, during which the student will fulfil the role of a beginning teacher.

Many course areas require students to complete a prescribed sequence of courses. This means that students must enrol in courses in a particular order to satisfy the requirements. Such requirements are mandatory when they lead to professional accreditation or when they involve the progressive acquisition of knowledge and/or skills. Failure to undertake courses in the required sequence may result in timetable clashes and/or the inability to complete the award in minimum time. The professional experience courses must be successfully completed in the prescribed sequence. For further details, contact the Ourimbah Student Hub, Ourimbah Campus.

Transition Arrangements Back to top

From 2010 transition arrangements will apply. Some courses in this program will no longer be offered. Where this is the case, the replacement course is listed underneath the course.
