Description

The Bachelor of Business/Bachelor of Innovation and Entrepreneurship (BBUS/BIE) is a 320 unit program offered on a full-time (or equivalent part-time) basis. The program starts with broad core courses and then progresses to one of seven major sequences of study offered in the degree:

  • Governance, Policy and Political Economy;
  • Human Resource Management;
  • International Business;
  • Leadership and Management;
  • Marketing;
  • Sports Management;
  • Tourism Management.

Students may also choose a minor in one of the following discipline areas:

Academic requirements for program completion

Total units required

320 units

Program duration

4 years full-time or part-time equivalent up to 10 years maximum.

International student visa holders who are studying the program on campus are required to enrol full time as per student visa requirements.

Program requirements

To complete the Bachelor of Business/Bachelor of Innovation and Entrepreneurship program students must pass courses totalling 320 units (generally made up of 32 courses worth 10 units each). Please note that the Entreprenuership and Innovation major is not available to students in this program.

The 320 units required to complete the program must include:

  • All core courses listed
  • A Major sequence from the Bachelor of Business including all compulsory and directed courses, Please note the Entrepreneurship and Innovation major is not available to students studying this combined degree
  • No more than 110 units at 1000 level
  • At least 40 units at 2000 (second year) level and 3000 (third year) level
  • No more that 100 units at the 2000 (second year) level
  • Elective course

Students may study 40 units of courses which comprise a minor (see additional information at:http://www.newcastle.edu.au/__data/assets/pdf_file/0020/335441/Bachelor-of-Business-Bachelor-of-Innov-and-Entrep-Minor-Areas-of-Study.pdf ). When you have successfully completed your program, your transcript and testamur will specify completed major/s but will not specify completed minors.
