Why study with us?

Further your research skills with a Biomedical Science Honours at the University of Newcastle.IS AN HONOURS DEGREE IN BIOMEDICAL SCIENCE FOR YOU?

With increasing competition in all sectors of employment and higher education, graduating with an Honours degree in biomedical science is a distinct advantage. Graduates may find employment in biomedical research, pathology, veterinary science or hospital laboratories. Honours is often considered by employers as an added skill and has been used by previous graduates to pursue higher positions and salaries. You can develop and carry out research on a topic of interest in biomedical science, potentially leading to further academic study, such as a PhD, or improving your chances of gaining entry into other degrees.

The Bachelor of Biomedical Science (Honours) allows you to further develop skills in biomedical science by undertaking a specific research project under the supervision of our world-class research staff.

The Honours year is your opportunity to make creative use of the information you have acquired during your first three years of study. If you have imagination, drive and an aptitude for problem solving, Honours in Biomedical Science should be an exciting and fulfilling experience.

As part of your Honours project, you will help design a biomedical research project, review relevant literature and conduct experiments. You will communicate the rationale for doing the project, the results from the project, and their conclusions, in both written and oral forms.
