CareerHub

CareerHub is our site for delivering online careers services. You'll need to go to this site to book appointments, register to attend workshops and events, find job listings, and a range of other useful career information resources and links.

Accessing CareerHub

Note: Access is also available through MyUoN and the Careers Service Blackboard page in UoNline.

Recent graduates are required to reset their password. This includes students from Open Foundation, Newstep and YAPUG even if you are intending on continuing study at the University of Newcastle.

  • Go to the CareerHub login page www.careerhub.newcastle.edu.au
  • Click 'Forgotten your password?'
  • Fill in your student number and student email
  • A reset token will be sent to your student email
  • Copy and paste this token into the space provided and create your new password
  • In future, use the log in feature under the line

How to use CareerHub

Log in

Option 1:

  • Click on the 'Jobs' tab at the top of the screen. Recommended jobs will be listed according to your preferences.
  • Click 'Search more jobs' to view additional opportunities.

Option 2:

  • Type a keyword/s into the search bar > Select a service, eg: graduate positions
  • Type a location
  • Click 'Find jobs'
  • For a more advanced search click 'More search options' 

Bookmark job/ follow organisation

If you are interested in a particular job and would like to revisit it, click 'Bookmark job' located under the job title. All bookmarks are saved under the 'Dashboard' tab at the top of the screen.

Log in

  • Click on the 'Appointments' tab at the top of the screen or locate 'Appointments' under 'Prepare for your career'
  • Click 'Book an appointment'

Option 1

  • Select what you would like to talk about, for eg: resume assistance
  • Select a day showing available appointments
  • Select a preferred time
  • Click on 'View appointment'
  • Click on 'Book appointment'
  • Fill in details of the appointment
  • Click 'Save booking'

Option 2

  • Filter your search by Campus, Counsellor or Type
  • Select what you would like to talk about
  • Select a day showing available appointments
  • Select a preferred time
  • Click on 'View appointment'
  • Click on 'Book appointment'
  • Fill in details of appointment
  • Click on 'Save booking'

Once you have booked your appointment, a confirmation email will be sent to your registered email address.

Note: If there are no suitable times available or your appointment is urgent, for eg: you are on placement or you have been offered a job interview on short notice, please contact the office on +61 2 49215588 to arrange another time

Cancel appointment

If you are unable to attend your appointment please cancel to give someone else the opportunity to take your place.

  • Click on 'Dashboard'
  • Click on 'Appointments'
  • Click on the title
  • Click 'Cancel'

Log in

  • Click on the 'Events' tab at the top of the screen or locate 'Events' under 'Prepare for your career'
  • Click 'More events'
  • Look at the recommended events or use the search tool to filter your search
  • Type in a keyword or the title if known
  • Select the 'Type' and 'Campus' and click 'Search'. Eg: to view all workshops at Callaghan, select 'Career workshops' and 'Callaghan'.

Log in

  • Locate the workshop you would like to register for
  • Click 'Book in'

Cancel event

If you are unable to attend an event/workshop please cancel to give someone else the opportunity to take your place

  • Click 'Dashboard'
  • Click 'Events'
  • Click the title
  • Click 'Cancel' and 'Ok'.

Log in

  • Click on the 'Ask a question' tab at the top of the screen
  • Click on the 'Resources' link to see if there is a resource that can answer your question first
  • If not, click 'Ask us' on the right hand side of the screen
  • Type in the topic and details
  • Upload any attachments (if applicable)

Note: Questions are checked during business hours, Monday to Friday. We aim to respond to all questions within two business days. If your question is urgent please phone the office on +61 2 4921 5588.

Log in

  • Click on the 'Resources' tab at the top of the screen or locate 'Resources' under 'Prepare for your career'
  • Click 'More resources'
  • Under 'Search Resources' type 'Info sheets'
  • Click on the magnifying glass
  • This will display all of our Information Sheets as PDF documents

Hint:  To locate resources related to a specific topic you can search by keyword and all related resources will be highlighted.

To access GoinGlobal:

  • Click on the 'Resources' tab at the top of the screen
  • Type 'GoinGlobal' under 'Search resources'

To add employment/ education experiences to your profile:

  • Click on the 'Profile' tab at the top of the screen
  • Click 'add'
  • Fill in details and click 'Save'
  • You can edit these details at any time
