If you are planning to resign or retire from UoN, all staff need to complete the notification of resignation form (PDF, 90KB). You don't need to submit a separate letter of resignation but you may want to attach a letter to the notification form.
Academic staff are required to give enough notice to complete existing teaching commitments. UoN will not unreasonably refuse a request to reduce the period of notice.
Casual academic staff employed on a sessional basis need to give two weeks notice, unless a shorter period is negotiated.
Professional staff, other than casual staff, must give at least two weeks notice. However a shorter notice period can be negotiated.
Casual staff only need to provide one hour notice of leaving their position at the University.

Feedback on your experiences at UoN
When you receive a letter from Human Resource Services acknowledging your resignation or retirement, you will be asked to complete an exit survey about your experience while at UoN. This survey is important as it provides valuable information to the organisation about what can be improved.
The letter will give you a link to the voluntary survey which will take about 10 minutes to complete.
