Academic leadership
The principal academic body of the University of Newcastle is the Academic Senate, which has the mission to protect, promote and enhance the excellence of the core academic activities (teaching, learning and research) within the University.
The University of Newcastle acknowledges the traditional custodians of the lands within our footprint areas: Awabakal, Darkinjung, Biripai, Worimi, Wonnarua, and Eora Nations. We also pay respect to the wisdom of our Elders past and present.
