About TRIM (Content Manager)

What is TRIM?
TRIM is the University’s Electronic Document and Records Management System (EDRMS), this software application enables the compliant management of physical and digital information in one central location. TRIM is used to control and track the creation, use, modification, management and disposal of documents and records.
TRIM functionality includes a classification scheme and retention and disposal authorities to assist with managing the lifecycle of university information. TRIM provides the ability to apply complex security and access controls to records which enables users to control access to records in TRIM.
The application integrates with Office 365 products, including Outlook, Word, and Excel. TRIM is also integrated with the HR system (Ascender), NUSTAR and SQUIZ/Web.

How to get access to TRIM
If you are a new staff member or an existing staff member that requires amendments to your TRIM access, please complete the Application for TRIM Access form (Pdf). Please send the completed form to records@newcastle.edu.au for processing.
If you require TRIM to be rolled out to a new business area, please contact the Records Governance Services team via records@newcastle.edu.au Our team will provide you with advice regarding the process for new TRIM implementations.
TRIM Desktop (Full Client)
TRIM for Desktops - This version requires the installation of software onto individual desktop/laptop PC's, and perform on Windows 10, with Office 2013, 2016, 2018 or Office 365.
TRIM Web Client
The TRIM Web Client provides you with access to TRIM from offsite locations using your personal PC or Mac computer.
This can be accessed through https://records.newcastle.edu.au
Please note that you will require the VPN client to access the Web client when your machine is not on the University network and that the TRIM Web Client has a completely different look and feel to TRIM desktop and some reduced functionality.
