UoN has plans in place to maximise the University's ability to recover from unforseen and disruptive events such as pandemics, loss of critical infrastructure, and natural disasters.
We have a coordinated approach to responding to incidents and managing and restoring the University's critical functions. These plans are kept secure outside of University infrastructure to ensure their availability in the event of a disruptive event.
Our approach to organisational resilience is comprised of:
- emergency management
- critical incident management- including plans and dedicated recovery teams to coordinate and manage the short term requirements following a disruptive event
- business continuity - including plans to replace or recover resources to ensure teaching and research activities of the University can continue
- IT disaster recovery - including a comprehensive information backup regime and capability to recover critical business systems within five hours of a prolonged outage to the primary data centre.
