This course develops Transformative Pastoral Practice in the ministry context of the participants. It is a major resource for their growth in self-knowledge, social awareness, skills for social analysis and theological reflection. It aims to develop the pastoral worker as a pastoral theologian.
| Objectives | Upon completion of this course, students will be expected to: 1. Demonstrate an understanding of theories of personal and social transformation relevant to pastoral practice; 2. Demonstrate an understanding of how urban and rural contexts affect and evoke patterns of institutional and personal response; 3. Propose appropriate pastoral care responses to contextual urban and rural issues; 4. Articulate the range of theological understandings of issues that emerge within the practice of ministry in urban and rural settings. |
