This course explores the foundational underpinnings of communication and proclamation essential for the preacher. The course offers practical experience in developing homilies and provides opportunity to preach and be critiqued by course presenter and peers.

Objectives Upon completion of this course, students will be expected to:
1. Articulate the key principles of communication and how they shape and form a person in the craft of preaching;
2. Demonstrate and understanding of the different discourses
3. Demonstrate an understanding of the role through practical engagement
Content The main themes covered include: the practice of homily preparation; preaching to a new generation; understanding the New Era in Face-to-Face Religious communication; function and technique of hand gesture; preacher as risk taker; written text becomes living word
