This course develops an historical overview of the spirituality of liturgy, highlighting the importance of its Trinitarian base and the underpinning of paschal mystery through a study of church rituals. There is a pastoral dimension to this unit that seeks to link liturgy with contemporary living.
| Objectives | Upon completion of this course, students will be expected to: 1. Demonstrate an understanding of foundational aspects of Christian life and theology as seen through a vibrant and challenging liturgical tradition; 2. Discuss the key approaches to the study a liturgical spiritualty as part of the continuing development of Christian thought and praxis; 3. Articulate theology as the expression of a changing Christian identity under the pressure of different social contexts; 4. Articulate their understanding of the place of the trinity in their worship experience, the practical implications of the paschal Mystery; |
