Sacramental Theology

This course will study mainly the structures of ministry in the Church. It seeks to define the role and relationship between ordained ministry and lay commitment in the Church and in the world.

Objectives
Upon completion of this course, students will be expected to:

1. Comprehend the theological, spiritual and practical dimensions of the sacraments
2. Outline the historical development of the sacraments in the life of the Christian Church
3. Understand different meanings of sacramental theology in the Christian Church
Content
Themes will include: sacraments, sacramentality and the various concepts of sacraments through the ages in the Christian Church; the practice of the sacraments in the Christian Church today; how many sacraments?; sacramentology and ecumenism.
