This course explores the foundational ideas and reasons for ministry in the church. It seeks to show how the ministry of discipleship evolves out of a ministry service.

Objectives Upon completion of this course, students will be expected to:
1. Demonstrate an understanding the meaning of baptism as a common call to ministry and discipleship for all.
2. Demonstrate an understanding of ministry having a mission beyond the church.
3. Demonstrate an understanding of the interaction between the community and the personal call to discipleship.
Content The main themes covered include: significant study of Scripture, Tradition and Second Vatican Council; how key church leaders and teachers have understood and developed ministry in the church; relationship between the Holy Spirit and the Church; offer possibilities for ministry in life situations.
