This course contributes to the development of participants' teaching practice through activities that focus on practical and professional approaches to student learning. It aims to provide opportunities to develop a teaching portfolio and to experience peer observation and feedback of teaching.
| Objectives | On successful completion of this course participants should be able to: 1. Examine current issues and practice in higher education; 2. Evaluate a variety of teaching strategies and their potential influence on student learning; 3. Apply a variety of strategies to critically evaluate teaching and student learning; 4. Apply technical, educational and ethical criteria to reflect upon and improve teaching practice; and 5. Prepare a teaching portfolio, including input from peer evaluation, that links philosophy, practice and teaching performance. |
