Through this course students will:
1. Enhance knowledge of the significance of family and community contexts in schooling
2. Enhance knowledge of contemporary models of community development.
3. Enhance knowledge of the role of schools in community development.
4. Enhance knowledge of the opportunities and challenges associated with developing relationships between schools, families and communities.
5. Develop strategies for, and skills in, the development of effective relationships between families, schools and communities.
6. Examine examples of early intervention and prevention initiatives developed in school settings.
7. Develop skills in critical self-reflection.
