Adopts a postmodern, narrative, social constructionist approach offering ideas and techniques where students develop an understanding of how the welfare state constructs people's realities. Its focus will primarily be the development of skills in narrative therapy in addition to the specific development of anti-oppressive principles of welfare practice.

| Content | The course covers a wide range of narrative practices including externalization, re-membering, therapeutic letter writing, the use of rituals. It also offers a progressive critique of narrative practice and outlines a more radical counter-hegemonic practice. | ||||||
