This course will involve an analysis of research methodologies and/or topics applicable to the student's area of study.

Objectives Upon successful completion of this course, students should be able to demonstrate:
1. understanding of the methodological issues involved in research in an area of social science study;
2. comprehension of a range of theoretical issues in areas of social science study;
3. skills in performing a research task at honours level;
4. ability to write a research essay at honours level.
Content This course will involve an analysis of research methodologies and/or topics applicable to the student's area of study. This will be provided through a series of seminars, which may focus on a particular theme or on a range of methodological and theoretical issues related to research in the social sciences.

Assumed Knowledge The Bachelor of Social Science (Honours) program requires successful completion of a Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Social Science or equivalent, with a major in a field relevant to their proposed Honours study and at least a credit average in the field in their undergraduate program.
