On successful completion of the course students will have:
1. Developed knowledge of basic and advanced research methods in cognitive psychology and cognitive neuroscience;
2. Developed knowledge of current developments in cognitive psychology and cognitive neuroscience;
3. Gained experience in experimental procedures required to advance knowledge in cognitive psychology and cognitive neuroscience;
4. Gained experience in reporting of scientific data using appropriate data analysis techniques in cognitive psychology and cognitive neuroscience;
5. Gained experience in linking theory to practice in cognitive psychology and cognitive neuroscience;
6. Developed critical analysis and evaluation skills in cognitive psychology and cognitive neuroscience;

The course covers theories, models and research in topical areas of Cognitive Psychology and Cognitive Neuroscience. It examines mechanisms contributing to typical and atypical patterns of development in areas such as decision making, memory, cognitive control, emotional control, motor processes, and language. A wide range of techniques will be discussed as they relate to current developments in Cognitive Science and Cognitive Neuroscience. The lab program will enable students to acquire specific skills for research in cognitive science and cognitive neuroscience.

Students who have completed PSYC3030 will not be required to complete PSYC3300.
PSYC3300 is not to count with PSYC3030.
