This course is not part of an Australian Psychological Society accredited sequence. As the content of PSYC1030 overlaps with both PSYC1010 and PSYC1020, it cannot be taken with either subject.

Introduces contemporary theories of human behaviour and adaptation, with some emphasis on their practical implications. It provides a general introduction for those who will study Health Psychology at 2000 and 3000 level and also provides students who do not intend to proceed further in Psychology with a general appreciation of psychology. Cannot be counted with PSYC1010 or PSYC1020.

Objectives PSYC1030 aims to provide a foundation for furthering knowledge and understanding of people, and for the development of students' ability to work with them in their chosen vocation.
Content Introduces studies in life span development and contemporary theories of human biological, psychological and social development, behaviour and adaptation. Tutorials focus on the development of interpersonal skills.
