Photonics Honours 4340
The Honours Program in Photonics is designed to give students an advanced understanding of modern Photonics, as well as exposure to current research interests in Photonics. Photonics Honours 4340 together with Photonics Honours 4320 comprises a research project under the supervision of an academic member of staff.

1. An understanding at an advanced level of the principles and techniques underlying many of the important areas of Photonics, Applied Photonics and Physics.
2. A range of communication skills including writing skills, verbal discussion skills, IT and graphical presentation skills.
3. An ability to effectively solve problems by managing resources, acquiring research skills using newly acquired knowledge, using computer aided design and synthesis and design principles.
Major research project:
This will be in one of the current photonics research areas of the School and will be supervised by a member of the academic staff.
This course is only available to students enrolled in the Bachelor of Science (Honours) program.
A BSc(Photonics) with a Credit grade average in at least 40 units of 3000 level courses.

- Individual Supervision: Induction Requirement - Students must attend and pass the induction requirements before attending these sessions. - In order to participate in this course students must complete a compulsory safety induction.
