The Honours Program in Photonics is designed to give students an advanced understanding of modern Photonics, as well as exposure to current research interests in Photonics. Photonics Honours 4340 together with Photonics Honours 4320 comprises a research project under the supervision of an academic member of staff.
In order to participate in this course, students must complete a compulsory Workplace Health and Safety requirement. Students will receive full information on this compulsory course component in the course outline provided by the school.
| Objectives | On successful completion of this course, students will demonstrate: 1. an understanding at an advanced level of the principles and techniques underlying many of the important areas of Photonics, Applied Photonics and Physics. 2. a range of communication skills including writing skills, verbal discussion skills, IT and graphical presentation skills. 3. an ability to effectively solve problems by managing resources, acquiring research skills using newly acquired knowledge, using computer aided design and synthesis and design principles. |
