The Honours program in Photonics is designed to give students an advanced understanding of modern Photonics, as well as exposure to the current research interests in Photonics within the School. Photonics Honours 4310 comprises lectures in four compulsory core topics - Quantum Mechanics, Solid State Physics, Electromagnetism and Photonics.

In order to participate in this course, students must complete a compulsory Workplace Health and Safety requirement. Students will receive full information on this compulsory course component in the course outline provided by the school.

Objectives On successful completion of this course, students will be able to:

1. demonstrate a range of communication skills including writing skills.

2. effectively solve problems by using research skills, new knowledge and computer skills.

3. demonstrate advanced knowledge in Photonics, Applied Photonics and Physics.
