ORHL2003 builds on existing knowledge and introduces the theories and approaches used in Oral Health Promotion. This course provides a framework for the delivery of oral health promotion at a population level using evidence based practice and the engagement of community groups such as preschools.

Objectives On completion of this course you will be able to:

1. Contribute to the general debate on the provision of general and oral health care to individuals and community groups;
2. Apply the principles of health promotion to the evaluation of general and oral health promotion activities;
3. Access and critically evaluate scientific literature;
4. Prepare an oral health promotion project plan;
5. Evaluate data obtained from oral health indices and other research methods;
6. Analyse and reflect on the effectiveness of various individual and group communication strategies;
