This course aims at providing students with the skills to organise and implement vocal/choral programs suited to the primary school context, with an emphasis on establishing primary choirs. Vocal training techniques, selection and adaptation of appropriate repertoire and conducting skills will be the focus of the course.
ObjectivesAt the completion of this course student's will demonstrate: 1. skills in the selection and adaptation of suitable repertoire. 2. effective conducting techniques. 3. appropriate vocal techniques. 4. part singing in choral groups. 5. organisational skills for primary school choral groups. | ||||
ContentThe course will involve workshops where students will be given musical concepts and practical hands on experience in vocal techniques as well as leading and conducting choral groups. | ||||
