This course discusses the principles and operation of equipment used in radiation therapy.

Objectives At the completion of this course, radiation therapy students shall be able to:

1. Explain the principles involved in radiation treatment using photons, electrons and beam modifiers
2. Discuss the dosimetry principles and equipment used in Radiation Therapy
3. Explain the principles involved in radiation planning and treatment verification
4. Discuss the dosimetry principles used in treatment verification
5. Explain the different quality assurance tests in RT
6. Describe radiation protection principles in RT

Transition Transitional arrangements will be done on a case-by-case basis. It is estimated that only 2-3 students will need transition between the old and new course.

Online Learning Activities Student are required to read a research paper on radiation therapy treatments.

They are then required to post onto BB, the 5 moost important things that they learnt from the readings.
