This course discusses the principles and operation of equipment used in diagnostic radiography.
| Objectives | At the completion of this course, diagnostic radiography students shall be able to: 1. Discuss relevant image quality terminology and measurments 2. Describe the equipment used in mammography 3. Discuss the principles of fluoroscopy 4. Explain interventional radiography and the hazards that need special consideration. 5. Discuss the different pieces of equipment needed to undertake quality control measurements in ALL diagnostic radiography modalities 6. Explain the different tests used in QC and interpret the results 7. Describe the radiation protection principles 8. Discuss radiation protection of staff, members of the public and patients 9. Describe and compare the different methods used in radiation dosimetry 10. Discuss the current changes occuring in medical imaging |
