Health Professionals have access to increasing amounts of evidence about stroke management. How do we effectively translate this evidence into effective practice which enhances the outcomes of those at risk of stroke, or directly affected by stroke? In this course health professionals will have the opportunity to explore an area of clinical practice that is of interest and/or concern, review the relevant evidence and investigate strategies for applying the evidence into clinical practice. The most recent literature will be reviewed, case studies analysed and theories applied to the individual clinical settings and health service management systems illustrating opportunities to improve these processes.
ObjectivesUpon completion of this course participants will: 1. Have critically analysed the literature available to knowledge transfer and stroke management. 2. Identified key issues in the transfer of knowledge to the clinical environment and health management systems. 3. Identified strategies to enhance the success of knowledge transfer in clinical practice. 4. Examined one area of clinical interest related to stroke and proposed evidence-based strategies to bridge the evidence-practice gap. | ||
