A course based on evolution of prescribed reading, designed to establish the most reliable, valid and efficacious means of assesing and treating patinets with musculoskeletal pain problems.
to be familiar with the causes of musculoskeletal pain, how it can be diagnosed reliably and validly and how it can most effectively be treated.
Applying knowledge of pain mechanisms and critical reasoning to the assessment, diagnosis, formulatioin and management, according to evidence-based practice, of patients with pain in (a)lower back, thoracic spine, neck, shoulder, upper limb (tennis elbow, carpal tunnel, wrist), hip, knee, ankle, foot (b) myofascial pain/fibromyalgia.
Undergraduate knowledge of the anatomy and physiology of the musculoskeletal system.
