This course will explore the thoughts and influence of a range of highly influential modern figures across a diverse set of areas of study. Broadly speaking, these figures will be presented as representing the growth and development of the areas of study we now know as philosophy, religion, and theology. Such exploration is designed to further introduce students to foundational concepts and issues addressed in these areas of study and to provide insight into the methods that are typically employed by them.
ObjectivesUpon successful completion of this course, students will be able to demonstrate: 1. An understanding of key influential modern figures who have shaped the areas of study of philosophy, religion, and theology 2. Skills in studying and analysing concepts and issues in the areas of study in question 3. Competence interpreting historical and contextual factors at work within the disciplines in question 4. Communication and information technology skills appropriate to the presentation of concepts, issues, ideas and beliefs that are to be found in the disciplines in question. | ||
