The course consists of a series of lectures and laboratories on the functional anatomy of the nervous system, thorax, abdomen and pelvis. Areas emphasised are those most important in Medical Radiation Science and Physiotherapy practice.
| Objectives | Students are not required to become experts in Anatomy but they must understand the functional anatomy of brain, chest and abdominal structures. Finally, students should understand the morphological, functional and pathological basis for imaging of the major organ systems of the body. Students should be able to do the following for major organs in the head, chest and abdomen: 1. Describe its structure (Gross Anatomy and Histology). 2. Describe its relationship to other organs and its surface anatomy. 3. Describe its blood supply, venous and lymphatic drainage. 4. Understand how the organ's structure relates to its function, i.e. its physiology. |
