This course provides students with an understanding of the need for evaluation of health promotion interventions, and skills in determining whether interventions are effective in achieving their stated goals.
| Objectives | At the end of this course students should be able to determine the need for evaluation and develop goals, design an evaluation program, carry out the evaluation including pre-testing and data collection, and collate, report, and disseminate evaluation results. | ||

| Content | Content addresses program goals and objectives; outcome, impact and process evaluation; evaluation designs, including experimental and quasi-experimental designs; qualitative and quantitative data collection techniques; instrument design, reliability and validity: pre-testing of health promotion materials; an introduction to economic evaluation; practical implementation of an evaluation; collation, reporting and dissemination of results. | ||
