A language course designed as a sequel to FREN3610, continuing to develop the students' oral and written expression.

Objectives1. to enhance students' understanding of French grammatical structures;
2. to further develop in the student sophisticated communication skills and strategies in French;
3. to promote an increased awareness of cultural and linguistic differences;
4. to develop in the student the capacity to think critically about language.
By the end of the course, students are expected to reach a level between B2 and C1 (Common Framework of Reference for Languages).
ContentA language course which places emphasis on developing the students' powers of expression in the oral and written codes.

Examination: Class3 online quizzes, 5% each, 15mins, focusing on a specific grammatical point or verb conjugations;

3 written tests, 15% each, 1 hr, evaluating the content, vocabulary, grammatical structures and cultural knowledge covered in the last 2 episodes studied;
Examination: Oral1 oral test, 10%, 10 mins, testing the ability to reply to simple questions and communicate in French.
Examination: Formal1 final exam - 30%, 2 hours. It aims to test the most important material covered throughout the semester.
