A language course designed as a sequel to FREN3610, continuing to develop the students' oral and written expression.

Objectives
1. to enhance students' understanding of French grammatical structures;
2. to further develop in the student sophisticated communication skills and strategies in French;
3. to promote an increased awareness of cultural and linguistic differences;
4. to develop in the student the capacity to think critically about language.
Content
A language course which places emphasis on developing the students' powers of expression in the oral and written codes.

Examination: Class
3 written tests, 10% each, 1 hr, evaluating the content, vocabulary, grammatical structures and cultural knowledge covered in the last 2 episodes studied;
Examination: Oral
1 oral test, 10%, 10 mins, testing the ability to reply to simple questions and communicate in French.
Examination: Formal
1 final exam - 20%, 2 hours. It aims to test the most important material covered throughout the semester.
