Further intensive study of the language, to improve vocabulary, pronunciation and grammar, with a view to developing self-expression both in writing and speaking.

Objectives
1. to develop an advanced level of understanding of French grammatical structures;
2. to enable the student to develop sophisticated communication skills and strategies in French;
3. to promote an increased awareness of cultural and linguistic differences;
4. to develop in the student the capacity to think critically about language.
Content
A language course which places emphasis on developing the students' powers of expression in the oral and written codes.

Examination: Class
3 small tests, 5% each, 15mins, focusing on a specific grammatical point or verb conjugations;

3 written tests, 15% each, 1 hr, evaluating the content, vocabulary, grammatical structures and cultural knowledge covered in the last or last 2 episodes studied
Examination: Oral
2 oral tests, 10% each, 10 mins, testing the ability to reply to simple questions about the story studied and communicate in French.
Examination: Formal
1 final exam - 20%, 2 hours. It aims to test the most important material covered throughout the semester.
