EPMANC120 will provide an introduction to organisational theory and the behaviour of groups and individuals within organisations, including the processes of team work/team building, and will develop these concepts with particular reference to the fundamentals of management within the business context. Case studies will develop an understanding of the practical application of theoretical concepts.
ObjectivesOn completion of this course, students will: a. have a demonstrated basic knowledge of the fundamentals of business management and organisational theory, including a capacity to recognise and use relevant terminology; b. have a demonstrated competence to read, understand and critically evaluate the information contained in relevant academic texts; c. be able to organise and present information to a satisfactory standard in oral presentations and essays; d. be able to understand and critically evaluate case studies in at least one of the topic areas, including its relevance to course topics; e. have a demonstrated competence to effectively contribute to a team project; f. have a demonstrated understanding of the processes underlying diversity within an organisation. | |||||
