This course assists in the development of a comprehensive knowledge of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples cultures and histories through Australia's development. It covers from the time before the invasion of the British through to the beginning of the 20th Century.
| Objectives | By the end of this course students will: 1. be introduced to introductory level information about Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and their historical relations with non-Indigenous Australians. 2. be aware of the range of ideas about treatment of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. 3. have practised researching unfamiliar topics using a range of research tools. 4. be familiar with and have practised the skills required for effective examination performance. |
