On the successful completion of this course, students will have:

7. Demonstrated skills in critical thinking, written and verbal presentation, and group work.

- Context of impact assessment in relation to environmental decision making and sustainability;
- Historical background and contemporary approaches to impact assessment;
- Impact assessment methodologies, including social impact assessment;
- Professional practice, including team work, project management, report writing, public participation;
- Knowledge and skills necessary to undertake impact assessment and public participation;
- Issues and critiques relating to the theory and practice of impact assessment and public participation;
- Examples and case studies of impact assessment and public participation in different contexts.
