This course explores critical, media, visual, and digital literacies; and develops participants' skills in using digital imaging technologies across multiple screens (such as the cinema, computer, iPad or tablet, and mobile phone screens). It aims to build a thorough knowledge of the pedagogical and production processes involved in the implementation of collaborative digital video production projects within the primary or high school classroom. Practical skills and pedagogical approaches are addressed at a 2-Day residential school.
| Objectives | This course provides students with the opportunity to demonstrate: 1. knowledge and understanding of critical media literacy, visual literacy, and film grammar; 2. a capacity to use a range of digital screen technologies; 3. a capacity for understanding and engaging in the process of filmmaking and film study in the classroom; 4. a capacity for understanding and engaging in collaborative project based learning approaches. |
