Over all aim of this course is to provide the students with a sound theoretical base
towards effective practices in leading and managing educational organizations from a
strategic perspective. Particular emphasis is placed on leadership and strategic
management including strategic planning.

Objectives This Course seeks to:

- Enhance the knowledge and understanding of the theoretical concepts, best practices and current literature relating to leadership and strategic management;
- Assist the development of skills, competencies and critical and strategic thinking to be pro-active and effective leaders and managers with a commitment to continuous improvement; and
- Encourage the adoption of flexible styles of leadership with empowerment and strategic planning to energise the staff towards the creation of efficient & effective organizations.
Content This course provides an in-depth knowledge and understanding of ten broad topics.
These include: The Leader and the Art of Leading; How to Select an Appropriate
Leadership Style; Leadership of Professionally Staffed Organizations; Leading and
Managing Organizations; Leading and Managing Change; the Concept of Strategic
Management; Strategic Management Perspectives, Levels & Modes of Strategy;
Managing Strategically; and Strategic Planning.
