This course explores the principles and practices of teaching and learning Stage 6 Music 2 and Extension courses in secondary schools. Students will explore lesson planning and programming for Stage 6 Music 2 and Extension courses; and a range of strategies, technologies and resources for teaching and assessing Music 2 at the secondary school level. Students will explore course, programming, literacy, numeracy and assessment requirements of the NSW Higher School Certificate for Music 2. Attention will be given to strategies for teaching and assessing practices of performance, improvisation, musicology, aural and composition components of the Music 2 curriculum.
ObjectivesUpon completion of this course, students will have the capacity to: 1. Apply the principles and practices of teaching and learning Stage 6 Music 2 in secondary schools. 2. Interpret the course and assessment requirements for Stage 6 Music 2 curriculum. 3. Develop lesson plans, programs and assessment tasks for Stage 6 Music 2 curriculum. 4. Use a range of strategies, technologies and resources for teaching and assessing Stage 6 Music 2 curriculum. 5. Apply strategies for teaching and assessing practices of performance, improvisation, musicology, aural and composition components of the Music 2 curriculum. | |
