Provides students with an understanding of young children's development in relation to the learning of social education. Students plan, implement and evaluate appropriate learning experiences for young children in the area of social education.

Objectives For students to demonstrate
1. understanding of child development in relation to the learning of social education;
2. that they can plan, implement and evaluate appropriate learning experiences for young children in the area of social education;
3. the use of state syllabus documents in planning and programming;
4. content knowledge in social education.
Content Topics include
? understanding and respect for the cultural heritage of themselves and others;
? knowledge and appreciation of Australia's historical and geographical context;
? Australian groups and institutions;
? people's characteristics and capacities.
