Description

This course will introduce students to approaches for designing Integrated Curriculum, which they will implement using multi-level pedagogies during a full time 20 day block of professional experience in a Primary school setting. During their professional experience opportunity, students will attempt to demonstrate their attainment of Graduate Teacher Standards, and have an opportunity to engage in the full life of the school including student sport, playground supervision, faculty/grade/stage meetings and school activities and functions, as required.

This course replaces the following course(s): EDUC2049. Students who have successfully completed EDUC2049 are not eligible to enrol in EDUC3185.

Requisites

This course is only available to students enrolled in the Bachelor of Teaching, Bachelor of Teaching (Early Childhood and Primary) (Honours), Bachelor of Teaching (Primary) (Honours) programs.

Assumed Knowledge

180 units of study. MUST include EDUC2185, EDUC1738, EDUC2747, while EDUC3739 and EDUC3745 should be undertaken concurrently or previously.

In order to pass this course, each student must complete ALL of the following compulsory requirements:

Pre-Placement Requirements:

  • National Police Certificate - Students must complete a National Police Check.
  • NSW Health Verification Requirements - Students must complete NSW Health Department requirements for students to attend placements in NSW Health facilities.
  • Prohibited Employment Declaration - Declaration that student is not a prohibited person in terms of the Child Protection (Prohibited Employment) Act 1998.
