Provides students with an understanding of children's development (0-8 years) in relation to the learning of science and technology. Students plan, implement and evaluate appropriate learning experiences for young children in the area of science and technology.

Objectives For students to demonstrate
1. understandings of child development (0-8 years)and to apply these to the teaching of science and technology;
2. planning, implementation and evaluation of appropriate learning experiences for young children in the area of science and technology;
3. proficiency in the use of curriculum frameworks and syllabus documents in planning and programming for science and technology;
4. content knowledge in science and technology.
Content Topics will include:
. built environments;
. information and communication;
. earth and its surroundings - air, water, the earth, the solar system and space;
. physical phenomena - sound, light, magnetism and electricity;
. use of technology in teaching.
