Students will apply movement principles and develop skill competencies across a range of core physical activities. Specifically, students will examine track and field techniques, dance and football.

Objectives On successful completion of this course, students will be able to demonstrate:
- refined practical skills related to a range of physical activities;
- knowledge of the rules and tactics that apply to a range of team sports (football codes) and physical activities;
- an understanding of relevant safety issues;
- capacity to apply appropriate coaching principles to particular sports.
Content Major practical strands may include:
- football
- track and field
- dance
The respective strand outlines will expand on the prescriptive content to be covered.

Other: (please specify) There will be a mix of theoretical and practical assessment for this course. The knowledge-based assessment may utilise a formal examination/quiz or a theoretical assignment. The practical assessment will be selected from specific skill competency tests or pratical group work projects. The overall course assessment weighting will be 50% theory and 50% practical. Students must gain a 50% grading or higher in each practical strand to merit a PASS or higher grade in this course.
