Supporting Literacy, Numeracy Communication Skills

Develops an understanding of the literacy, numeracy and communication skills needs of students, and specific assessment and intervention approaches that can be implemented to meet those needs. Specifically, the course addresses the literacy, numeracy and communication needs of students with diverse needs; instructional approaches to meet those specific learning needs; computer literacy skills in programs; knowledge of resources and services available to support individuals and programs; literacies and communication skills across KLAs. The course forms part of a group of courses that students seeking an additional accreditation as a special education teacher are required to complete within their double degree program.
