Consolidates students' understanding of the role of the teacher as researcher of their own practice for professional growth.

Objectives As a result of participating in this subject, students will be expected to demonstrate:
1. Understanding of the approaches to research in educational settings;
2. a valuing of research as a necessary part of the profession of teaching and related to the daily work of the teacher in preparing for teaching;
3. Skills in researching and reporting on aspects related to their teaching practice.
Content Students are required to complete a small research study that does not involve human participants on a topic closely related to the student's own teaching and professional development. The research study should be undertaken as a literature review or as a document study.The topic is negotiated with a supervisor.
