Introduces students to the nature of learners and the learning process. It aims to create understanding through the use of psychological and sociological approaches to human development and individual differences to learning.
| Objectives | Upon the completion of this course, students will be expected to demonstrate: 1.knowledge of the nature of learning from the viewpoint of both a learner and a teacher; 2.understanding of human development as a lifelong concept; 3. knowledge of individual differences in learning style and identification of how catering for individual differences relates to practice in the classroom; 4. relating learning theories to pedagogical practice; 5. knowledge and evaluation of alternative learning theories with reference to everyday practice in classrooms |
